Xhkarsh coils out of the void between thoughts — a writhing mass of chitinous plating, grasping tendril-limbs, and a crown of sensory stalks that twitch toward the warmth of living minds. Its maw splits into four wet, barbed sections, each capable of independent speech in a tongue that erodes sanity. To encounter Xhkarsh is to feel your reality become negotiable — it doesn't attack so much as it unmakes.
This is a Large creature, supplied on a 50mm round base — occupying a 2×2 square footprint on a standard battle grid and casting a genuinely imposing shadow over adjacent Medium figures. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. Xhkarsh features an asymmetric silhouette — its left flank bristles with a cluster of hooked feeding tendrils while its right side bears a thickened carapace shoulder, giving the sculpt a coiled, predatory tension even at rest. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
The carapace sections across Xhkarsh's dorsal surface are individually segmented, each plate edge undercut to catch ink washes and create natural shadow lines without additional effort. The sensory stalks atop the cranial mass taper to fine rounded tips, each one slightly different in length and angle, giving the impression of independent organic growth. The facial maw region is densely detailed — layers of serrated inner teeth recede into a dark throat cavity, and the surrounding facial flesh is pulled taut in permanent tension. The tentacle cluster on the left flank has distinct sucker rows along each appendage, a gift to any painter willing to pick them out in a contrasting colour.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. Xhkarsh is a natural fit for Far Realm incursion encounters, Underdark ambush scenarios, or as a psychic predator haunting an abandoned observatory — equally at home as a standalone threat or a herald for something larger and worse. Base: 50mm round base.
Painting tips
Prime in black and basecoat the carapace in Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue or Citadel Kantor Blue — the deep cool tone reads as alien and deeply unsettling under tabletop light. Wash the entire model heavily with Citadel Nuln Oil, then follow immediately with a targeted application of Citadel Druchii Violet into the recesses between carapace plates to push the shadows toward a bruised, organic purple. Drybrush the raised carapace edges with Vallejo Electric Blue or Citadel Hoeth Blue to simulate the faint bioluminescent sheen of a creature adapted to the lightless deep. The fleshy tentacle undersides and the maw interior reward a base of Citadel Cadian Fleshtone washed with Citadel Reikland Fleshshade, then a final highlight of pallid white at the very tips — the contrast between hard chitin and soft wet flesh is the heart of this sculpt. Consider a gloss varnish on the inner maw and sucker rows only, leaving the carapace matte, to reinforce that same texture divide.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the sensory stalks, the fine tentacle tips, and the innermost barbed teeth of the maw. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
