The Wormhearted Suffragan is a grotesque herald of parasitic devotion — a once-ordained cleric whose chest cavity has long since been colonised by a writhing mass of necrotic worms that now pulse visibly beneath cracked, parchment-dry skin. It moves with the unsettling deliberateness of something being steered from within, vestments rotting at the hem, holy symbol fused into the sternum by dark ichor. At the tabletop it announces itself as the kind of encounter that makes players lean forward and ask, quietly, what exactly is keeping it alive.
This is a Medium creature, supplied on a 25mm round base — occupying a single grid square, it sits among the front rank of your undead forces without dominating the board, yet its intricate silhouette draws every eye. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. The Suffragan features a commanding robed stance with one arm raised in dark benediction, decaying ceremonial vestments layered over a torso visibly distended by the worm colony within, and a downward-tilted skull-like face mid-pronouncement — the kind of pose that reads clearly across a cluttered battle map. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
The vestment folds are deeply undercut, catching shadow beautifully along every crease and giving painters clear channels to run washes through. The exposed ribcage area shows individual worm forms pressing outward against taut skin — each one distinct enough to pick out individually with a fine brush. The face carries sunken orbital sockets, a slack jaw with individually sculpted broken teeth, and a furrowed brow that reads as zealous even in death. The ceremonial trim along the robe hem is etched with barely legible devotional script, rewarding painters who take the time to work a fine-liner or edge highlight along its border.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. The Suffragan is a natural fit for a cult headquarters encounter, an undead siege on a temple district, or as the lieutenants-of-a-lich scenario where players realise too late that destroying the body only releases what lived inside it. Base: 25mm round base.
Painting tips
Start the robes with Vallejo Model Color Buff as a base, then glaze down with Citadel Agrax Earthshade pooled into every fold before drybrushing the raised fabric edges back up with pure white — this gives the vestments that bleached, sun-starved look of cloth that hasn't seen light in decades. The exposed worm mass responds beautifully to Citadel Flesh Tearers Red contrast applied over a zenithal prime, then individual worms highlighted with Vallejo Rosy Flesh and a final gloss varnish to make them look wet and alive against the matte surround. For the desiccated skin, thin Citadel Skeleton Horde contrast over grey primer and immediately wipe the highest points back with a damp brush — you'll get instant translucent depth without losing the sculpted texture. The corroded holy symbol fused to the sternum is a strong OSL opportunity: basecoat it Citadel Warpstone Glow, stipple Moot Green at the centre, and feather out a sickly green ambient glow onto the chest cavity around it. Finish the entire miniature with a matte varnish and then selectively gloss varnish only the worm bodies and the eye sockets to make the living elements pop against the dead ones.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the outstretched benediction fingers, the frayed vestment hem, and any individual worm forms that protrude from the torso cavity. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
