Draped in a wolf-skull helm and a ragged pelt still stained from the hunt, the Wolf Reaver is the kind of dwarf who gave up on civilisation long before it gave up on him. He charges into combat with a feral howl and a pair of brutal axes, his thick braided beard flying, eyes alight with the bloodlust of a dwarf who has run with wolf packs longer than he has walked with kin. At your table, he commands immediate attention — whether he's the party's unhinged front-liner or a terrifying pack-leader NPC leading a warband of mountain raiders.

This is a Medium creature, supplied on a 25mm round base — occupying a single 1-inch grid square, the standard footprint for player characters and humanoid enemies. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.

What you receive

One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. The Wolf Reaver Dwarf is sculpted in a dynamic mid-charge pose, dual axes raised, wolf-skull helm cresting his head with open jaws, and a heavy fur cloak billowing behind his stocky frame. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.

Detail and quality

The wolf-skull helm is the centrepiece of this sculpt — the cranium plates, eye sockets, and exposed upper teeth are all individually defined, making it a joy to pick out with careful drybrushing. The fur cloak beneath shows layered, directional hair strands that catch wash beautifully, running from shoulder to knee in thick tufted rows. His axes feature rough hand-forged heads with visible notching along the blade edges, bound in leather wrapping with trailing sinew cords — the kind of weapon detail that rewards a steady brush hand. The dwarf's face beneath the helm is scowling and heavy-browed, with a braided beard divided into three thick rope-like sections, each tied with a small ring — small enough to be a satisfying challenge, large enough to paint with confidence.

Compatibility

Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. The Wolf Reaver is perfect for mountain ambush encounters, dwarven outcast warbands, or as a barbarian player character who has taken the Path of the Totem Warrior — equally at home as a solo mini or leading a raider unit. Base: 25mm round base.

Painting tips

Start the wolf pelt cloak with a basecoat of Vallejo Beasty Brown or Citadel Mournfang Brown, then wash heavily with Agrax Earthshade to sink depth into every fur strand. Drybrush up through Citadel Baneblade Brown to Ushabti Bone on the raised fur tips to get that sun-bleached wolf coat effect. The wolf-skull helm responds brilliantly to a zenithal prime followed by Citadel Contrast Skeleton Horde — the recessed eye sockets and tooth gaps fill with shadow automatically, leaving you only to highlight the brow ridge and teeth with pure Corax White. For the axes, basecoat the heads in Vallejo Gunmetal Grey and apply a targeted wash of Nuln Oil, then edge-highlight with Citadel Stormhost Silver along the blade bevel and notch edges for a well-used, battle-worn finish. The leather axe wrappings take Citadel Doombull Brown washed with Druchii Violet for a dark, worn look that contrasts sharply against the cold steel — a small detail that makes the whole weapon read as lived-in and dangerous.

Care

Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the axe haft tips, the wolf-skull teeth on the helm, and the sinew cord details trailing from the axe bindings. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.

Primed or unprimed?

This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.

Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.

Materials & Print Quality

All inserts and accessories are printed in PETG filament — chosen specifically for workshop environments. PETG handles tool weight without cracking, resists workshop chemicals and oils, and holds tight tolerances so parts fit snugly first time.

Layer height and print settings are tuned per-product to maximise strength where it matters. Colours may vary slightly between batches due to filament manufacturing tolerances.
