Vesiculosa drifts through the lightless corridors of dungeons and fungal caverns like a silent, bloated plague — its translucent membrane stretched tight over shifting inner masses, clusters of weeping pustules glistening along its flanks. It moves with an unsettling, boneless patience, exhaling a faint corrosive mist that causes torches to gutter and sputter before it fully reveals itself. At the table, Vesiculosa creates the kind of encounter players won't forget — a creature that looks wrong in a way that's hard to articulate, and hits harder than anything that ugly has any right to.
This is a Medium creature, supplied on a 25mm round base — occupying a single square on standard dungeon grid tiles, but commanding far more visual space with its distended, asymmetric silhouette. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. Vesiculosa features a dramatically swollen body mass covered in layered pustules and stretched membrane detail, with trailing tendril-like appendages splayed at its base and a distinct forward-lunging pose that conveys relentless, hungry momentum. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
The sculptor has packed Vesiculosa's surface with an extraordinary density of individual pustule clusters, each one raised and rounded with visible membrane tension across the top — a dream subject for wash-heavy painting techniques. The trailing tendrils exhibit fine, tapered ribbing along their length, providing grip for ink and contrast paints alike. A subtly open, toothless maw sits low on the creature's forward mass, framed by two asymmetric fleshy lobes that give it a horrifyingly expressive quality. The membrane panels between the pustule clusters show thin, vein-like surface texture that rewards careful basecoating and glazing — the kind of detail that makes the finished piece look genuinely diseased and alive.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. Vesiculosa is a natural fit for underdark encounters, plagued sewers, corrupted temples, or as a wandering aberration spawned by a Far Realm incursion — equally useful as a minor horror in a dungeon crawl or as a recurring environmental threat in a body-horror campaign arc. Base: 25mm round base.
Painting tips
Start with a zenithal prime — black from below, white from above — to lock in the natural shadows already sculpted into the pustule clusters before you lay down a single drop of colour. Basecoat the membrane skin in Vallejo Pale Flesh or Citadel Pallid Wych Flesh, then flood the whole model with a 50/50 mix of Citadel Reikland Fleshshade and Druchii Violet to push the recesses into a bruised, infected tone. Drybrush the pustule tops lightly with pure white to make them look stretched and about to burst — this single step sells the whole effect. Hit the tendril ribbing with a targeted application of Citadel Plaguebearer Flesh contrast paint, thinned slightly, for an instant diseased-green accent that reads well at arm's length. Finish the maw interior with a glaze of Citadel Carroburg Crimson over a wet-looking gloss varnish base to suggest something slick and organic within — the contrast between matte flesh and glossy mouth is deeply unsettling and requires almost no effort.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the tapered tendril tips and the fine membrane edges between pustule clusters. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
