Cloaked in scorched robes bearing the chitinous sigil of their venomous god, the Scorpion Cultist advances with unsettling calm — a curved blade in one hand, a dripping venom vial in the other. These fanatics haunt desert ruins and subterranean shrines, offering sacrifices to the great carapaced deity they believe will inherit the world. At the table, a cluster of these zealots transforms a simple ambush into a tense, poisonous encounter that keeps even seasoned adventurers on edge.
This is a Medium creature, supplied on a 25mm round base — occupying a single 1-inch grid square, this figure holds its own visually while slotting seamlessly into mob formations or solo villain roles. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. The Scorpion Cultist features a deeply hooded robe with ragged, layered hems, a scorpion-motif chest clasp, and a raised weapon arm mid-strike — a dynamic pose that reads clearly on a crowded battlefield. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
The robe is sculpted with tight, angular fabric folds that suggest hardened desert travel — creased at the elbows and bunched at the belt where a scorpion-tail trophy hangs as a grim charm. The hood falls in a deep shadow over the upper face, leaving only a thin-lipped snarl and sunken, hollow eyes visible — ideal for an eerie contrast with a pale skin tone beneath. The curved blade is etched along the spine with tiny rune-like notches, and the crossguard is shaped to mimic a scorpion's claw. Across the shoulders and forearms, cracked leather bracers are embossed with segmented carapace patterns that will reward fine detail work with a liner brush.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. The Scorpion Cultist is a natural fit for desert dungeon crawls, yuan-ti or scorpionfolk cult encounters, Tomb of Annihilation side threats, or as a recurring low-CR enemy backing a more powerful desert warlord. Base: 25mm round base.
Painting tips
Prime black for maximum shadow depth in the robe's tight folds, then basecoat with Vallejo Beasty Brown or Citadel Rhinox Hide for a sun-bleached, dust-caked look. A heavy wash of Citadel Agrax Earthshade pooled into the fabric creases will define every fold without lifting a brush again. Drybrush the robe highlights with Vallejo Iraqi Sand or Citadel Karak Stone to push the desert-worn texture. The carapace bracers respond beautifully to Citadel Contrast Skeleton Horde thinned over a white base layer, then edge-highlighted with pure white — giving the chitinous segments an almost translucent, organic quality. For the venom vial, a dot of Citadel Tesseract Glow or Vallejo Fluorescent Green under a gloss varnish creates a convincing bioluminescent poison effect that makes the miniature pop on the table.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the curved blade tip, the scorpion-tail trophy charm, and the venom vial. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
