Seven twisted necks rear from a single barrel-chested body, each crowned with a cloven-horned goat skull stretched into something ancient and wrong — the Goat Hydra is equal parts livestock nightmare and apex predator. Its cloven hooves churn the earth as it lurches forward, multiple heads snapping and bleating in dissonant chorus, a sound that breaks concentration faster than any spell. Drop this on the table and your players will immediately start arguing about who has the torch.
This is a Huge creature, supplied on a 75mm round base — occupying a 3×3 square footprint on standard 5-foot-grid battle maps, it dominates the encounter zone and forces tactical decisions the moment it hits the table. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. The Goat Hydra features seven individually sculpted necks and heads — each with distinct curved horns, a gaping jaw, and a slit-pupil eye — atop a massively muscled quadrupedal body with cloven hooves and a thick, scaled underbelly. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
Each of the seven heads is unique in pose — some lunging forward with jaws wide, others coiled back as if ready to strike, one twisted sideways in an unsettling resting snarl — giving the impression of genuine independent movement across the hydra's neck cluster. The body scales transition from large, plate-like dorsal scales along the spine to tighter, overlapping belly scales underneath, with visible musculature tension across the shoulder and haunches. The hooves show deep cleft detail and cracked keratin texture, while the legs carry streaks of raised tendon and vein work that will reward careful highlighting. Every horn has visible ridge lines and a slightly chipped, weathered tip — the kind of sculpt detail that paints up beautifully under a strong wash.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. The Goat Hydra suits mountain passes, cursed farmland, blighted moorland, or any encounter where a regenerating multi-attack threat needs to send a clear message — it also works brilliantly as a corrupted guardian in fey or druidic dungeon arcs. Base: 75mm round base.
Painting tips
Start with a black primer and basecoat the scales in Vallejo Sick Green or Citadel Death Guard Green — the large dorsal plates are perfect for successive highlights up to Vallejo Goblin Green or Citadel Skarsnik Green, keeping the recesses in deep shadow. Wash the entire body heavily with Citadel Agrax Earthshade, then follow with a targeted wash of Citadel Coelia Greenshade into the belly scale recesses for a cooler, damper tone underneath. The horns on each head respond beautifully to a bone progression — basecoat in Vallejo Ivory, wash with Citadel Seraphim Sepia, then drybrush the ridges with pure white, leaving the tips darkened with a touch of Citadel Nuln Oil for a worn, dead-keratin look. The eyes across all seven heads are an excellent OSL opportunity — paint them with Citadel Liche Purple deepening to black at the pupil, then edge-highlight the surrounding scale with a thin line of Citadel Genestealer Purple as though the eyes cast a faint bioluminescent glow. Finish the hooves with Citadel Rhinox Hide drybrushed up to Citadel Baneblade Brown for cracked, mud-caked keratin.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the individual horn tips across the seven heads, the narrow neck shafts where they branch from the body cluster, and the lower leg sections above the hooves. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
