The Carniflower doesn't wait in ambush — it blooms. Its broad, lurid petals splay open like a welcoming flower, concealing a ring of inward-curving fangs dripping with digestive fluid. Rooted through the torso into the earth beneath it, this ambulatory plant horror drags itself forward on grasping root-tendrils, drawn by the heat and movement of living prey. At the table it creates an unforgettable moment: the party steps into a sun-dappled glade, and the flowers start to turn.
This is a Medium creature, supplied on a 25mm round base — occupying a single 1-inch grid square, it fits seamlessly into dungeon corridors and forest clearings alike while its dramatic vertical bloom makes it loom far larger than its footprint suggests. Scaled to 28mm heroic scale and fully compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, and all major tabletop RPG systems.
What you receive
One professionally produced resin miniature, cleaned and ready for basing and painting. The Carniflower features a wide-open bloom head with layered petal segments, a writhing mass of surface root-tendrils forming the lower body, and two raised feeding appendages poised mid-lunge. The figure arrives in its natural grey resin finish — prime and paint to your own colour scheme. All support marks have been carefully removed. Every figure is inspected before dispatch — any miniature that does not meet our standard is remade, not shipped.
Detail and quality
The petal surfaces are sculpted with fine vein lines running from a thickened central midrib to serrated petal edges, giving painters a natural roadmap for blending and wet-on-wet botanical techniques. The interior of the bloom is lined with rows of individually sculpted recurved teeth, each one slightly irregular — no two are the same, exactly as you'd expect from something that grew rather than was forged. The root-tendril body has deep, organic coiling grooves between each tendril strand, perfect for picking out shadow and highlight along each ridge. The two raised feeding arms terminate in smaller secondary mouths, their lips slightly parted, adding a layer of creeping wrongness that makes the whole sculpt feel genuinely alive.

Compatibility
Compatible with Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 1e & 2e, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, Age of Sigmar, Frostgrave, and any system using 28–35mm scale figures. The Carniflower is ideal for encounters in corrupted forests, the Underdark, alchemist's gardens gone wrong, or as a druid's twisted guardian — it works equally well as a wandering encounter creature or a memorable environmental hazard protecting a dungeon's threshold. Base: 25mm round base.
Painting tips
Start the petals with a basecoat of Vallejo Sick Green or Citadel Moot Green, then shade deeply into the petal veins and the interior of the bloom with Citadel Biel-Tan Green contrast paint or a heavy wash of Athonian Camoshade — this instantly reads as something organic and slightly rotten. Drybrush the petal tips up through Citadel Screaming Skull toward pure white to suggest bleached, sun-stressed edges. The interior teeth respond beautifully to a basecoat of Citadel Rakarth Flesh, a wash of Reikland Fleshshade, and a final edge highlight of white — the contrast against the dark green throat makes them look genuinely threatening. The digestive fluid pooling at the base of the fangs is a great spot for a gloss varnish or Citadel 'Ardcoat to suggest wetness. For the root-tendril body, a dark brown basecoat of Vallejo Chocolate Brown, washed with Agrax Earthshade and drybrushed with Citadel Karak Stone, sells the woody, earthy texture convincingly and contrasts well against the vivid bloom above.
Care
Resin miniatures are more brittle than plastic — handle with care, particularly on thin parts such as the individual petal tips, the recurved fang teeth lining the bloom interior, and the fine tendril ends at the base of the figure. Store away from direct sunlight. Super glue bonds resin effectively if a part breaks.
Primed or unprimed?
This miniature is available in two options. Unprimed arrives in its natural grey resin finish — apply your own spray or brush-on primer before painting for maximum adhesion, which is the preferred approach of most experienced painters and gives you full control over primer colour and texture. Primed arrives pre-primed in a smooth flat grey, saving you a step and ready for base coats straight from the box. Both options are produced fresh to your order and ship from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia within 5–7 business days. Select your preference above.
Supplied unpainted. Images show the design and sculpt. Painted examples are for reference only.
